ALFRED, N.Y. — A student at Alfred State College was seriously hurt after he was attacked on campus earlier this month.
Derek Correa was attacked by four men off-campus on Sunday suffered serious head injuries and is in a coma, according to Dr. Steven Mauro, president of Alfred State College. The college posted a video on the school's YouTube channel with an update.
We talked with the college president who said the suspects are not students. He also said the college freshman who was attacked is in a coma.
"This senseless act of random violence by outsiders to our community has shaken us all," said Mauro.
His family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with expenses and provide updates on his condition.

The four men were arrested by police and charged with one count of gang assault in the first degree with more charges expected to come, according to WETM-TV.
