Man pleads guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with 2022 crash

The crash killed 68-year-old Nathaniel Robinson Sr. and his passenger, 35-year-old Sherry Lewis.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man on Friday pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide for his involvement in a car crash that killed two people last year.

Officials said that 30-year-old Marcus Edwards was drunk driving at a high speed around 1 a.m. on July 31, 2022, when his Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into another car at the intersection of Broadway and Bailey Avenue.

The crash killed 68-year-old Nathaniel Robinson Sr. and his passenger, 35-year-old Sherry Lewis. They were in a Jeep Liberty that had right-of-way while turning onto Broadway when the collision happened.

Edwards faces up to 25 years in prison. He is currently being held without bail, and he will be sentenced on Feb. 2.
