WYOMING COUNTY, N.Y. — The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office said an 80-year-old man is dead after a crash involving multiple vehicles.
The crash happened Tuesday just before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Wethersfield Road and Hermitage Road in the Town of Wethersfield.
When deputies arrived at the scene they located two vehicles that crashed and were off the roadway to the northwest of the intersection. The cars were a 2024 Subaru and a 2022 Ram Tow Truck.
The driver of the 2024 Subaru, Dr. Richard T. Milazzo, Jr., of Silver Creek, NY. Milazzo was found unresponsive at the wheel and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the WCSO.
Investigators say Milazzo’s vehicle was heading west on Wethersfield Road at a stop sign when his vehicle went through the intersection and into the path of the tow truck on Hermitage Road, which had the right of way.
The tow truck collided with the driver-side door of Milazzo’s vehicle, and both vehicles ran off the roadway.
The WCSO said no charges have been filed at this time.

If there was ever a doctor who emulated ‘commitment to community,’ it was Dr. Richard Milazzo. Dr. Milazzo was a well-respected physician in the Dunkirk-Fredonia community – treating patients for over 50 years. He had an amazing tenure at Brooks Hospital as a colleague and friend. We are deeply saddened by Dr. Milazzo’s passing and will miss him more than words can express.
