54-year-old arrested after making a threat to Canisius High School

An unknown caller had made a threatening call to Canisius High School on Friday, September 27 according to Buffalo Police.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Police announced on Monday an arrest was made following a threat targeted towards Canisius High School on Friday, September 27. 

On that Friday an unknown male had called the all boys high school, and left a threatening message. A Threat Management Unit immediately began investigating and was able to identify the caller.  

Detectives were able to apply for a temporary extreme risk protection of order, which was granted by the Honorable Judge Donna Siwek.

The investigation had also revealed that the same caller left a threatening message on August 29, 2024 as well. 

The caller has since then been identified as Adam Hovey, 54, of Buffalo. Hovey was charged with one count of making a terroristic threat, and one count of making a threat of mass harm.
