Overnight shooting in Buffalo ends with 3 people taken to ECMC

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Three people are recovering after a shooting that happened early Sunday.

The shooting happened during "a large indoor holiday party or gathering" around 3 a.m. on the the 500 block of Cornwall Avenue, south of the 33 and west of William Gaiter Parkway.

A 31-year-old man from Buffalo is listed in critical condition at Erie County Medical Center, according to a spokesperson for the Buffalo Police Department. Two other people — a 28-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man — are listed in stable condition while being treated at ECMC.

"Police are investigating if the promoted party was properly permitted," the spokesperson said.
