3 Chileans arrested for Amherst residential burglaries

Each person faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison if convicted of all charges.

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — Three Chilean nationals were arraigned Tuesday for several residential burglaries throughout the Town of Amherst, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office. All three face numerous charges.

Christian Antonio Rodriguez-Gonzalez, 35, Angelica Marie Rivera Perez, 27, and Itan Jadiel, 36, also known as Hector Rene, allegedly entered several homes between January 19 and January 25 with intent to steal property.

They are also accused of breaking rear windows to gain entry into the houses. The District Attorney's Office says they were allegedly found in possession of various items, which were reported stolen from the homeowners. These items include a safe, purses, jewelry and cash.

They have been charged with four counts of burglary in the second degree, one count of attempted burglary in the second degree, two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, one count of grand larceny in the third degree, two counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree, five counts of criminal mischief in the third degree, and one count of possession of burglar tools.

They were initially charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, but this charge was dismissed.

Each person faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison if convicted of all charges.

All three are scheduled to return to court on Monday. They remain held on $50,000 bail.
