Buffalo Police arrest 20 people last week on gun charges

Buffalo Police said they arrested 20 people between Nov. 4 and Nov. 10 on gun charges, recovering seven guns.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Police Department said they arrested 20 people between Nov. 4 and 10 on gun charges, recovering seven guns.

Nov. 5

According to Buffalo Police, they arrested Hector Martinez in connection with an alleged shooting on the 800 block of Tonawanda Street near the Riverside neighborhood. Police recovered a pistol. Police said he has been remanded.

BPD arrested Krieen Lane after an alleged menacing incident on Oct. 30 at the 400 block of Winslow Avenue, which is north of MLK Park. Police said four other suspects were arrested that night, and police found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol. According to police, Lane was released under probation.

Police said they arrested a 16-year-old boy at Ludington and Benzinger streets, near the Lovejoy neighborhood, where they found a handgun. The suspect was remanded with bail.

BPD said they arrested Daemon Shatara of Rochester on Swan and Spring streets on the East Side. Police said they found a pistol, and Shatara was remanded.

Nov. 6

Buffalo Police arrested five people under the age of 18 after allegedly stealing a car. They said they found a handgun. A 13-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl, two 16-year-old boys, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested.

Nov. 7

Seven people were arrested on Bickford Avenue near the Kensington neighborhood. They include a 17-year-old boy, Jama Peeler, James Thomas, Dion Salter, Jeffrey Tefft, all from Buffalo. Peggy Sue Malicoat of Niagara Falls and Walter Wojcik of Kenmore were also arrested. Officers recovered two handguns, police said.

Nov. 8

Three people were arrested on Bailey and Alma avenues, police said. According to police, Isaiah Edwards, Devonte Ridgeway, and Kyerstan Roman are from Buffalo. Police say they found a .357 magnum.

Dylan Novak, 18, was arrested for allegedly firing shots at Ludington and Goethe streets near the Lovejoy neighborhood.
