Two men were shot early Saturday morning on Highland Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls. Both are in serious but stable condition.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Two men were shot early Saturday morning in the City of Niagara Falls, according to the Niagara Falls Police Department. Police say the shooting happened around 2:48 a.m. on Highland Avenue, between College Avenue and Profit Lane.

Both men were taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in separate, private vehicles and were later transported to ECMC in serious but stable condition.

One of the victims has been identified as a 32-year-old man from Niagara Falls. Police say the other victim appears to be from outside the city, but they did not release his age.

Upon further investigation officers found blood and more than 20 shell casings on Highland Avenue. Police say one of the vehicles that transported one of the victims to the hospital sustained multiple bullet holes. They also say a parked car in that area had been struck.

It is unclear at this time if either victim played any other role in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
