2 Niagara County women charged in connection with January 6 riot at the Capitol

The two Lewiston women face multiple charges for their involvement in the January 6 Capitol riots.

YOUNGSTOWN, N.Y. — Two Niagara County women have been charged in connection with the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots

The FBI stated in a criminal complaint that they had received many tips from the public regarding the two women, who have been identified as Wendy Dominski and Traci Quimby. The complaint notes that the two are friends, both from Youngstown, New York.

Both had appeared in Federal Court on Thursday.  Both women are charged with:

  • Entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds
  • Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds
  • Disorderly conduct in the Capitol grounds or buildings
  • Parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building

In the criminal complaint, law enforcement officials say they received tips, viewed videos and social posts that allegedly show the two women unlawfully entering the restricted Capitol grounds and building. Along with those tips there were links, photo, and video evidence submitted showing that the women were in fact at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

In order to verify that those tips received were true, the FBI say they reviewed the following:

  • Closed circuit television footage from security cameras inside the Capitol building and their grounds
  • The Metropolitan Police Department's body worn camera footage that was taken inside the Capitol building
  • Video taken by journalists and rioters at the riot
  • Social media posts made by both of the women

Posts and videos reviewed allegedly  showed both women entering the Capitol building through the senate wing doors, walking into the Capitol crypt, staying for around 5 minutes, and eventually exiting the building through a broken window located next to the Senate Wing doors.

Multiple Facebook posts allegedly made by Dominski discussed topics such as protests, with one planned for January 6, 2021, claiming that the election was fraudulent. Examples of those posts were included in the complaint which can be seen attached below.

The complaint offers a timeline in full of the two's involvement during that day.

The complaint sites a journalist that had ran into the two at the riot, and asked them a few questions about the experience. One of the questions was "How did it go?"

Dominski is alleged to have replied, "How did it go down. Well, we tried to go upstairs and they smoked us down twice. After the twice, we all, thank you Jesus, finally stood together and went right through it. Got up to the doors, the doors got busted out, the windows got busted out, and we barged into OUR HOUSE. IT'S OUR HOUSE."

She continued, "Let me tell you. I approached a police officer because my daughter is a police officer and I asked him, I said can I walk out or are you taking me to jail, because I'm ready today. And he went like this [throws hands up and makes a shrugging motion] and I said [shakes head]. Done. He's done, they're done, the cops are done, they ball threw their hands up. They're done."

Quimby also allegedly joined in on the conversation saying, "We went to the round chamber, so there was a lot of people there. Once we saw the breakthrough we pushed through. We pushed through because we told our grandchildren we're not letting this happen."
