JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Two loaded stolen handguns were found during a traffic stop Wednesday morning traffic stop, according to Jamestown Police.
Daniel D. Sansom, 24, was pulled over at Willard and Barrows streets. Shortly afterward, police learned he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge.
Sansom, who is being held for arraignment, has been charged with two counts of possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and five counts of stolen property. Police say more charges could soon be added.
Police say a search of his vehicle turned up two loaded stolen handguns inside a drawstring backpack he was wearing. They say the guns had been reported as stolen in an Arlington Street burglary on Tuesday in Jamestown.
Police say credit cards belonging to three different victims were also found during the search, as well as a small amount of crystal methamphetamine and prescription medications.
