Police: A stabbing and a fire in Buffalo leave 2 dead

These incidents could be connected because the two people who died knew each other, according to a Buffalo Police spokesperson.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Police responded to call of a stabbing around 3:30 a.m. Saturday on the 700 block of Ashland Avenue.

A 24-year-old woman died from being slashed and stabbed, according to a Buffalo Police spokesperson. 

Then just before 4 a.m., Buffalo fire officials responded to 62 Dash Street.

A 24-year-old man who lived at the home was found dead on the first floor in a bedroom, fire officials said.

They added that the damage is estimated at $150,000.

According to the spokesperson, these incidents could be connected because the two people who died knew each other.

Erie County medical examiners will be conducting autopsies to determine the cause of the deaths. Fire investigators and homicide detectives are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
