Young siblings shot, brother dies after shooting at Buffalo gathering

The children, 3 and 7, were shot during an outdoor gathering near the city's Schiller Park neighborhood, police said late Friday night.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A young boy has died after a shooting Friday night that also injured his sister, according to Buffalo Police.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. on the first block of Domedion Avenue, south of Genesee Street in the city's Schiller Park neighborhood.

Ferry-Fillmore District officers responded to the scene and shut down the street as they searched for a suspect.

A Buffalo Police spokesperson reports that the children, a 3-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl, were shot during an outdoor gathering. 

The 3-year-old was later pronounced dead at ECMC. His 7-year-old sister who was also shot is currently being treated at Oishei Children's Hospital according to Buffalo Police.

Information about a suspect has not been released. Police have also not indicated why they believe the shooting happened.
