ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Two arrests were made Friday night near Highmark Stadium, where Luke Combs played the first of two weekend shows.
The first call to Orchard Park Police came around 9:35 p.m. Friday. That's when the 911 Center took a call from a woman, who said her intoxicated husband was walking in the middle of Abbott Road. A second person called about a man throwing cones at cars.
The man — a 27-year-old from Middleport — refused officers' demands to get out of the road. Police said the man resisted arrest, was placed in handcuffs, and kicked a patrol vehicle when officers attempted to place him in the back seat.
The man was charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration, and a disorderly conduct violation. He was arraigned and released.
The second call came at 10:51 p.m., two vehicles were reportedly stuck in a Southwestern Boulevard parking lot by a large pickup truck. The officers who responded found an accident that involved three vehicles.
The driver of the pickup truck told police that he did strike two vehicles when attempting to leave the parking lot. That led to field sobriety tests, which he failed.
A breath test showed that the 32-year-old Tonawanda man had a 0.21 BAC. He was charged with aggravated DWI and DWI common law misdemeanors, and an unsafe backing traffic violation.
The man will be arraigned in Orchard Park Town Court on May 9.
