Accounting students offering free tax preparation help

Students in the School of Business and Accounting Society will be offering free assistance for those doing their taxes that need help.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Looking for some help as we approach tax season?

Students at Niagara University that are apart of the College of Business Administration and Accounting Society will be lending a helping hand. 

Members of the Niagara Falls community can get free tax preparation assistance through the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program with Niagara University. 

The program offers free tax help for low to moderate income families, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and those with limited English proficiency.

People with an income of $57,000 or less are encouraged to bring their tax documents to the campuses Doris W. Jones Family Resource Building on any of the dates & times listed below courtesy of Niagara University

'Assistance will be provided from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Niagara University (Glynn Hall, Room 209) on the following Tuesday and Thursday nights: Feb. 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, and 29; March 5, 7, 19, 21, and 26; and April 2 and 4.'

'In addition, sessions will also be held on the first floor of the Doris W. Jones Family Resource Building (3001 9th St., Niagara Falls, N.Y.) from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, March 23.'
