Western New York's job situation is continuing to show signs of recovery.
The New York State Labor Department released its May regional unemployment report Tuesday that shows the Buffalo-Niagara region's unemployment rate dropped to 5.3%.
That's less than the 7.8% percent mark statewide and the nationwide 5.8% rate.
Western New York's May numbers are also just barely above the 5.2% mark from March of 2020 when the pandemic began.
