BUFFALO, N.Y. — If you use an Electronic Benefits Transfer card (EBT), there is important information you need to know about this weekend.
The New York Electronic Benefits Transfer System will be temporarily unavailable on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 12:01am until 11am so they can transfer to a new vendor.
During that time, those use EBT cards will not have access to their benefits. That includes food and cash purchase, or withdrawals. During the switchover, the toll-free helpline, mobile app and online portal will also be unavailable.

What's Staying the Same?
- EBT card and PIN
- EBT customer service helpline: 1-888-328-6399 (unavailable on May 19 from 12:01 AM - 11:00 AM)
What's Changing?
- Transition to the new ebtEDGE app and client portal
- ConnectEBT app and portal will no longer be in use
If you have issues after the switchover on Sunday, the EBT customer service helpline will remain the same after the transition. Cardholders can call 1-888-328-6399.
