NYSEG hosting customer meetings in response to electric billing questions & concerns

The meetings are a result of reporting by 2 On Your Side that has brought customer concerns about high electric bills and new Smart Meters to the company.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — NYSEG will host a series of customer meetings as they try to address recent concerns and questions about Western New York electric bills. 

The meetings are a result of reporting by 2 On Your Side and other local outlets that have brought customer concerns about high electric bills and new Smart Meters to the company.

According to a press release from the gas and electric provider, four meetings will held allowing customers to meet in person with NYSEG service representatives in hopes of addressing account needs. 

The meetings are being held in Clarence, Cheektowaga, Depew, and Alden in the following locations on Tuesday and Wednesday:

  • Tuesday, September 24 - Clarence Town Hall - One Town Place, Clarence - 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, September 24 - Cheektowaga Senior Center - 3349 Broadway, Cheektowaga - 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 25 - Depew Municipal Building - 85 Manitou Street, Depew - 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 25 - Alden Municipal Building - 13336 Broadway, Alden - 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

“We’re pleased to offer our customers the opportunity to meet with us at different locations and times to meet their needs,” said Christine Alexander, vice president of Customer Service for NYSEG and RG&E in a written statement shared with 2 On Your Side.

At each of these events, customers can ask questions about their accounts and learn about resources to help manage energy costs.

Customers should come prepared with billing examples and any information about recent energy usage changes that could be useful to NYSEG representatives.
