BUFFALO, N.Y. — The West Side Bazaar's new location is set to celebrate its grand reopening with a weeklong celebration starting Tuesday, Oct. 31.
The West Side Bazaar bought the building at 1432 Niagara St. in 2018 and started construction last year.
Now that it's been transformed and nearing completion, there's been a lot of interest.
"There's been such a clamoring of interest in when we're going to open and what's going to happen and people seeing the building transitioning just from the outside. I felt like today was a great day to show everyone where we're at," said Erin St. John Kelly, the director of external relations at WEDI.
This will be the bazaar's second location, but the only one owned by the nonprofit.
The other site is at 617 Main St.
The location on Niagara provides five times the space of the Grant Street location which has been permanently closed after a fire there.
This new site also offers room for eight restaurants, additional spots for vendors, and seats up to 200.
There's also a book and food subscription service, counseling, and driving school on the second floor.
Right now, there are 40 businesses on the waitlist.
"It's really exciting to be a part of the expansion of Niagara Street. We're really proud to be part of it. We're really proud to light up this stretch of the street. We're really happy to have all of these new neighbors who are moving in with all their enthusiasm like twin petrels, everything that's happening in the old resurgence. Both sides," Kelly said.
