Village of East Aurora buys 35 acres to develop senior housing

The deal is part of an initiative to develop affordable senior housing in the village.

EAST AURORA, N.Y. — The Village of East Aurora has purchased 35 acres of vacant land that could be used to develop senior housing.

The village bought the land along Bowen Road and Girard Avenue for $1.4 million from Fisher-Price Inc., according to Dec. 29 filings in the Erie County Clerk’s office.

The deal, according to village Administrator Cathryn Thomas, is part of an initiative to develop affordable senior housing in the village. Funds came from previously set aside allocations.  You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website.
