DERBY, N.Y. — Two years after launching as a home kitchen operation, the Bagel Jar is expanding into its own space.
The artisan bagel bakery signed a lease for a storefront in the Tops Plaza at 6940 Erie Road in Derby in a 2,000-square-foot space most recently occupied by a Pizza Hut.
Owners Morgan and John Popple started making bagels at home in August 2020 a few months after moving to the region from Cleveland. The pastime started as a hobby while he was working as an architect and she was a teacher.
