As he preps for this fall's opening of Hofbrauhaus Buffalo, restaurateur Kevin Townsell has found a buyer for his closed Shannon Pub.

According to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's office, Townsell's 2250 Niagara Falls Blvd LLC affiliate sold the Shannon Pub property to The Broadway Group LLC of Huntsville, Alabama. The Broadway Group — a real estate development arm of deep discount retailer, Dollar General, paid $425,000, county records indicate.

The Broadway Group has filed plans with the Town of Tonawanda Building Department to demolish the 5,116-square-foot building, constructed in 1967, and replace it with a 9,100-square-foot Dollar General. The project carries a $2 million development price tag.  You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website.
