BUFFALO, N.Y. — Resurgence Brewing Co. is expanding its craft beverage offerings with the acquisition of the Blackbird Cider Works brand from Donovan Orchards LLC.
Founded in 2011 by Scott Donovan in Barker on a 37-acre orchard, Donovan Orchards will retain ownership of the Buffalo Cider Hall, which leases space at 155 Chandler St., as well as its tasting room on Lake Ontario, where plans call for launching a new brand of high-end artisanal cider.
“Scott and his team grow great apples and make world-class ciders,” said Jeff Ware, founder and president of Resurgence. “We share a lot of the same values and think this will be a great fit for our portfolio.”
