BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new coffee shop is coming to the downtown medical campus with a menu that includes Turkish coffee, avocado toast and Russian cheese bread.

Penny’s Coffee Shop will open in mid-July at 916 Main St. on the ground floor of the Bosche Lofts building where Homegrown Kitchen previously operated.

It’s a venture by Lasha Takalandze and his wife Megi Endeladze, who named the shop for their dog Penny. The couple has been working on the plan for more than a year, developing a business plan with the Small Business Development Center at SUNY Buffalo State University and the Blackstone LaunchPad entrepreneurship program at the University at Buffalo.
