HAMBURG, N.Y. — A plan that combines new and old from a longtime restaurant family has emerged at a former Hamburg inn.
The O’Brien family acquired the former J&M’s West End Inn at 340 Union St. two years ago, intending to partner with a hard cider manufacturer. Those plans fell through, and new plans call for developing O’Brien’s Farm Fresh Kitchen & Smoke House.
Allie O’Brien-Phillippi co-owns O’Brien’s Farm Fresh Kitchen, a food truck/caterer specializing in smoked meats and cheeses. She’ll make the Union Street kitchen her base of operations, housing a small retail smoke house on site and developing the rest of the bar and banquet area into a private catering site.
