New golf entertainment center plans are starting to take shape

The plan is to have 60 year-round golf driving bays, duck-pin bowling, and arcade games, all paired with fine casual dining.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Plans for a new golf entertainment center in downtown Buffalo are starting to take shape.

Local developer Doug Swift told 2 On Your Side on Friday that ShotClub Social Buffalo at 555 Elk St. is hoping to start construction in the spring, and he hopes to be finished in the summer of 2026.

The plan is to have 60 year-round golf driving bays, duck-pin bowling, and arcade games, all paired with fine casual dining.

"This is a very accessible golf experience for people who have never even picked up a club," Swift said. "They can get out there and have fun and hit targets, even if its their very first time. But if you don't want to do that, or you are waiting for your hitting bay to open up, or you have a large group with diverse interests, you have a lot of different things that can be going on."

The golf center was first planned back in 2019 but was pushed back and had to evolve after the COVID pandemic.
