BUFFALO, N.Y. — Alcohol sales have increased during the pandemic, and it seems Family Dollar wants a larger piece of the action.
The retail store chain, owned by Dollar Tree (NASDAQ:DLTR), is looking to start selling alcohol at 20 more Family Dollar locations in Western New York, according to state liquor licenses filings. The licenses would allow the sale of to-go beer and wine coolers.
Local Family Dollar locations started in 2020 adding alcohol sales, and 17 stores have active liquor licenses. You can read the full story on Buffalo's Business First website.
