lloyd Taco Factory announces expansion plans

The new location will open sometime in January, though no exact date was provided.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — You've seen instantly-recognizable lloyd trucks driving around Buffalo and Western New York. And lloyd already had its own taco factories" on Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo and Main Street in Williamsville.

Now comes an announcement that lloyd Taco Factory will open a third site, at 492 Elmwood Ave., to start the new year.

"We're thrilled to be part of such a vibrant neighborhood," Pete Cimino, co-founder of lloyd, said in a statement. "This is more than just a restaurant opening — it’s another way for us to share great food and good vibes with the people of Buffalo. True to our mission, the new spot will not only serve killer tacos, but become a gathering space for the Elmwood community."

The Elmwood location will open sometime in January, though no exact date was provided. To prepare, lloyd said it is accepting applications, with walk-in interviews planned at its Hertel location from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday.

Positions available include line cooks, front-of-house staff, bartenders, kitchen support, and managers.

Lloyd will take over building where Thin Man Brewery most recently did business. Lloyd is known for its tacos and burritos, as well as craft cocktails and their Rocket Sauce.

Once the date is set, Lloyd's owner said the grand opening will feature exclusive menu items and giveaways.

"Buffalo is home, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring lloyd to Elmwood Village," co-founder Chris Dorsaneo said in a statement. "This new space will have everything you love about lloyd, but with a few surprises. From our craft tacos to our fresh ingredients, it’s going to be the place to eat, drink and hang."
