BUFFALO, N.Y. — Douglas Jemal plans to buy and renovate a vacant Riverside plant where sewing machines were once made.
He has proposed purchasing the former King Sewing Machine Co. plant at 308 Crowley Ave. for $120,000, according to the Buffalo Urban Development Corp.’s March 29 agenda. The BUDC directors are expected to approve the deal.
Jemal is negotiating with last year's 43North competition winner Top Seedz to shift its specialty cracker and seed manufacturing operations there from Cheektowaga. Rebecca Brady, Top Seedz founder, said the site is one of several sites she is considering to increase its production.
