M&T Bank's search for office space to accommodate at least 1,000 technology workers has ended at One Seneca Tower downtown.
In a deal that's been in the works since earlier this year, Buffalo-based M&T (NYSE: MTB) has agreed to locate a tech hub in the vacant, 38-story tower. M&T will occupy all or portions of floors 7 through 22 and the western plaza addition facing Pearl Street, according to sources close to the deal. The bank is expected to formally announce the location Thursday.
The deal is not only a major boost for the 1.1 million-square-foot building that dominates the downtown landscape but also will bring the largest influx of workers into the city in many decades. You can read more on Buffalo Business First's website.
