BUFFALO, N.Y. — As costs rise, so does the amount Western New York school districts spend per pupil.
The average expenditures per pupil for regional districts was $24,322.34 for the 2020-21 academic year. That’s a roughly $1,500 increase spent per pupil compared to the prior school year.
That’s based on the latest information available from the New York State Education Department for school districts in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee and Niagara counties.
