BUFFALO, N.Y. — A WNY-based company called The Perfect Granola made a generous donation to FeedMore WNY Friday.
The Perfect Granola donated hundreds of granola bars to the organization, in honor of National Food Bank Day, which is celebrated the first Friday of September.
"Our company is mission-based. We donate 5% of our profits to food shelters, food banks, outreach centers, homeless shelters, things of that nature and we thought -- what better day than today?" said Richard Comstock from The Perfect Granola.
This is also Hunger Action Month, a time to raise awarness of and take action against hunger in communities across the country.
"It's extremely important to those individuals who have to decide between paying rent or buying food. They need to pay rent to keep a roof over their head so this makes sure they're getting that basic nutrition," says LIsa Woodring from FeedMore WNY.
The granola bars are bound for 330 pantries across Western New York.
FeedMore WNY says its food bank program assists in helping nearly 140,000 people.
