BUFFALO, N.Y. — A lack of funding from the New York State Department of Health could jeopardize a deal to bring Eastern Niagara Hospital under the Kaleida Health umbrella.
After signing a loose affiliation agreement in 2016, Kaleida last year and was approved by the Health Department to become active parent and sole member at Eastern Niagara. Both organizations had applied for grant assistance through the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program.
When the grants were announced in February, six Western New York projects received $20 million, part of a $204 million allocation statewide for 95 projects. None of them, however, was for Kaleida or Eastern Niagara. You can read more on this story on the Buffalo Business First website.
