HAMBURG, N.Y. — The Foxglove Pub opened its doors just last week in the Village of Hamburg.
You wouldn't know it by looking at its Facebook page, which lists the business as "permanently closed." There are 928 likes, more than 1,100 followers, but just two photos and no other information to be found.
Posts made by the owners on the pub's social media pages — which have since been taken down — said they were "hanging up our aprons and calling it quits."
The social media posts read, in full:
Well, folks, it's been a wild ride! Due to a series of unfortunate events, we're hanging up our aprons and calling it quits. Turns out, running a bar isn't all beer and skittles and gives the fear as bad as a cheap tequila hangover.
Let's toast to the good times, the questionable decisions, and the fact that at least we never served you anything with mystery ingredients (we think). We'll have one last weekend to say goodbye and sell beer, mostly Guinness.
Thanks for all the laughs and the memories. Cheers to you, our amazing patrons!
See you at the next great adventure, Maura & Andy
