LOCKPORT, N.Y. — William “Bill” Patti has been tapped as the new executive director for the Kenan Center in Lockport.
The appointment follows Patti’s termination as general manager last summer from Shea’s Performing Arts Center, where he was among several executives critical of the board’s response to complaints regarding the leadership style of former CEO Michael Murphy, who was later fired and is now suing the theater.
A Western New York native, Patti started his career in North Carolina, where he served as artistic director at Highlands Playhouse for nine years while teaching at Episcopal High School as director of theater. He returned to the region in fall 2019 for the GM post at Shea’s, the region’s largest theater with revenue of nearly $25 million for the year ended June 30, 2022.
