BUFFALO, N.Y. — They Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Buffalo has a new owner.
That's according to a tweet by Business First reporter James Fink.
Developer Douglas Jemal bid $15 million for the hotel during an auction held on Tuesday. Jemal was the only bid.
They Hyatt Regency has been closed since March 2020. Jemal had been working through the legal foreclosure process in New York State Supreme Court to assume ownership of the 396-room hotel.
Jemal is expected to spend more than $10 million on renovations that are already underway at the hotel.
