BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new business opened at The Foundry, in what's known as a "maker-space" on Northampton Street in Buffalo Thursday night.
The grand opening ribbon was cut at 'Cocoa Cosmetics' and the business was actually founded by a high school senior.
The start-up makes high quality, handcrafted skin-care products, and is being sponsored by Ciminelli Real Estate.
"Honestly, it really feels surreal. Like, in this moment, right now, I don't even know how I'm actually like being able to function. But I'm just really excited over about everything. Being in The Foundry watching and grow from Buffalo reuse to The Foundry, and being able to be a part of the maker spaces, learn how to do woodworking, metal, cutting, all that good stuff. And just to be able to be a part of it after I didn't grow. And learned everything is just really a dream come true," said Riya Juma, Founder of Cocoa Cosmetics.
The Foundry will be hosting a holiday market on December 11, where Cocoa Cosmetics and other venders will be open for holiday shopping.
