City issues emergency RFP to repair underground AM&A's vault, reopen Washington Street

Washington Street has been closed between South Division and Eagle streets since 2018.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Concerned about public safety and the continued closure of a key stretch of Washington Street, the City of Buffalo has taken the lead to repair the underground AM&As vault.

On May 25, the Common Council will allocate about $500,000 for the emergency repair. The Buffalo Public Works Department has issued an emergency RFP to the contractors specializing in streets and infrastructure repair. Bids are due May 21, said Michael Finn, Buffalo DPW commissioner.

Finn wants to have a bidder selected by early next week, so the city can determine when work can begin and how long it will take. You can read the full story on the Buffalo Business First Website.
