LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Five years after opening as a lavender farm and event venue, Kin Loch Farmstead is expanding with an on-site winery.

The business will begin growing grapes this summer on its 30-acre farm at 4299 Ridge Road in Lockport. Meantime, it will offer its own wine by the glass or bottle under the Next of Kin label, made with juice from other area growers.

“We’ll start with three varieties to see how those successfully grow in our soil,” said Alexandra Plante, who owns the business with her husband, Ryan, after moving to the area from New York City.
