BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Business First publishes three annual Power lists — the Power 250, Power 200 Women and Power 100 Business Leaders of Color — featuring the top business leaders in Western New York. Each week, we will tell you more about an executive on those lists. This week: Herbert Bellamy Jr., CEO of Bellamy Enterprises and Buffalo Black Achievers.

He began with a senior housing development on Jefferson Avenue as a joint effort with his father, Herbert Bellamy Sr. From there, along with holding several public and nonprofit roles, he’s looked for opportunities to build. His cost-efficient housing projects such as Bellamy Commons at 1490 Jefferson Ave. have waiting lists.
