CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — West Herr Automotive has scrapped tentative plans for a dealership on Transit Road in Cheektowaga, selling 16 vacant acres of land back to original owner Benderson Development.

"We bought it without having any particular franchise in mind, just thinking it was a likely site someday," West Herr CEO Scott Bieler said. "We just hadn't found anything that was a likely franchise to go there."

West Herr affiliate TRCOM Properties I LLC in November 2021 bought two unnumbered parcels on Transit Road, south of Como Park Boulevard and north of Strasmer Road, from Benderson affiliate Transcomo LLC. The sale price was $2.75 million.
