Thrift shop super store and warehouse planned in Hamburg

Goodwill of Western New York has plans for four new retail stores, including the region’s first outlet superstore.

HAMBURG, N.Y. — Goodwill of Western New York has plans for four new retail stores, including the region’s first outlet super store.

The Buffalo-based nonprofit has leased 77,000 square feet at a former Walmart at 4255 McKinley Parkway in Hamburg. The organization plans to more than double the size of its existing 30,000-square-foot warehouse there and open the new outlet store in January.

Also known as a bin store, the model gives Goodwill of Western New York shoppers the opportunity to buy in bulk, paying by the pound versus per piece.
