A 127-year-old furniture store located in Buffalo will become a mixed-use project under the site's new owner.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 127-year-old furniture store in Buffalo will become a mixed-use project under the site's new owner.

F. Scherer & Sons Inc., recently sold 118 and 122 Genesee St., Buffalo for $700,000, according to Aug. 27 filings with the Erie County Clerk’s Office. Chris Jacobs, president of Avalon Development and former local congressman, bought the site through 124 Genesee LLC.

Developer Douglas Jemal previously had the site under contract and decided to pass on the property, according to Jacobs.
