Buffalo brand retiring causes two well-known stores to merge

After being bought in 1951, retirement is making its way for this Buffalo retail brand.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — After decades in business, a Buffalo family is retiring from retail.

Larry and Marsha Dautch will retire Dec. 30 from Reeds Jenss. Reeds Jewelers is acquiring assets of the giftware business and merging operations, according to Jeff Zimmer, owner of Reeds Jewelers.

"The Dautches are just really good, humble, kind, loving people,” Zimmer said.
