Popular brewery to take over former Resurgence site

In addition to the 3,000-square-foot bar and restaurant, a second, 1,000-square-foot building houses the brew production.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Britesmith Brewing is taking over a former brewery space in the City of Buffalo.

The Williamsville craft brewery has signed a letter of intent with landlord Breeser Real Estate Enterprises Inc. for close to 14,000 square feet at 1250 Niagara St. The building previously housed Resurgence Brewing and most recently Twin Petrels, until the seltzery closed at year’s end.

The space — which could be open by year-end — gives Britesmith more brewing capacity, a larger private event space, a new beer garden and the opportunity to consider getting into distribution, said managing partner Dave Schutte, owner of Schutte Hospitality Group.

“It’s already built-out space,” he said. “We would need to do some work in the kitchen, but it’s a lot of square footage.”
