NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The City of Niagara Falls and the Niagara Falls Urban Renewal Agency have finalized a deal to buy the Rapids Theatre for $800,000.
The ultimate goal is to find a developer who can take over the theater property.
At a recent meeting of the urban renewal agency, Mayor Robert Restaino announced Niagara's Choice Federal Credit Union had wrapped up foreclosure proceedings against 1711 Main St. LLC and owner John Hutchins, which allegedly owed $1.54 million on a 2016 mortgage for the theater.
