BUFFALO, N.Y. — When people graduate from a Northland Workforce Training Center program, they represent not only an addition to an in-demand section of the labor force but also potential future technical instructors.
The hope is that the public-private partnership organization creates its own pipeline of instructors, according to Stephen Tucker, president and CEO of Northland. The center aims to meet needs of energy and advanced manufacturing sectors while providing opportunities for job seekers to gain employment, economic sustainability and career advancement.
“We’re developing the pipeline, but overall, there’s still a shortage,” he said.
