Mexican chain looks to set up in East Aurora

Chipotle Mexican Grill is working on plans for a 3,196-square-foot restaurant in the village of East Aurora near the roundabout in The Circle.

EAST AURORA, N.Y. — Chipotle Mexican Grill is working on plans for a 3,196-square-foot restaurant in the village of East Aurora near the roundabout in The Circle, a shopping center at 160-190 Main St.

According to site plans filed by Benderson Development with the village building department, Chipotle Mexican Grill would fill a vacant space in a building at the rear of the property. Currently, the shopping center has a Rite Aid and three other retail stores. That’s the same plaza where The Irishman recently transitioned into Pizzeria Favo.

The developer plans to update the front awning to black, change the front door and provide a rear exit for the new tenant. Benderson is working with another tenant to take a 1,056-square-foot space in the same building, though no details were provided.
