NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — Mayer Brothers Apple Products is laying off workers at one of its Niagara County locations.
During the peak season for the company known for its apple cider, Mayer Brothers will lay off 26 of 123 employees at its beverage bottling facility at 7389 Lake Road in Barker, according to a WARN notice filed Friday with the state Department of Labor.
According to Alan Zak, the company's controller, a customer of Mayer Brothers reduced its production commitment, which led to the layoffs of production personnel.
