LOCKPORT, N.Y. — As a teenager, Matthew Martin worked at Willowbrook Golf Course in Lockport. Now he owns the place.
"I've always had a fondness for Willowbrook," Martin said. "I grew up right down the road."
Willowbrook Golf Course LLC, a company led by Martin with backing from two other partners, bought the 27-hole public course at 4200 Lake Ave. for $2.5 million. The seller was FBH Properties Inc., owned by a group of local shareholders.
