Judge halts longtime owners' effort to cancel sale of lakefront hotel

BEMUS POINT, N.Y. — The future of a Bemus Point hotel remains in limbo after a judge in late June denied the longtime owners’ efforts to cancel a sale contract signed nearly two years ago.

The decision comes three months after the Johnston family filed a complaint in Chautauqua County Supreme Court for a declaratory judgment voiding a $3.5 million contract signed in July 2022 to sell the Lenhart Hotel to Jill and William Curry II.
